HOT STONES
Smooth, heated basalt stones can be integrated into a treatment to heat and massage the muscles. The heat from the stones has a relaxing effect on the muscles allowing me to work more deeply into the muscle tissue. I mostly use the stones as an extension to my hands, and will sometimes place stones on areas that I’m not actively working on to provide a gentle heat. The hot stones can be incorporated into remedial massage treatments or as a nice relaxing treat, particularly in the cold winter months!
It takes a little while to heat the stones so I need to know in advance of your appointment if you would like me to use the stones. Hot stones may not be suitable for everyone (particularly if you have any conditions where nerve damage may have occurred or where your immune system is already taxed).
