Covid-19 Update
I'm happy to be able to announce that my business will be reopening and I will be offering treatments from my treatment room in my home in Musselburgh.
Covid-19 means that the situation is ever changing, and I have to comply with both government guidelines and guidelines issued by my professional associations. This is to ensure both my safety as a therapist and your safety as a client.
Things will be a little bit different to before.
Main points:
When you book in, even if you have previously completed a health questionnaire, I'll be asking you to complete a new one as it's been a few months since I treated anyone and I want to make sure that all your contact details and health details are up to date. In addition to this, I will need to pre-screen for any Covid-19 symptoms not more than 24h prior to your appointment. Please complete the form/disclaimer that I send with your appointment reminder and return promptly.
Both the therapist and the client will need to wear a mask/face covering for the duration of the appointment. If there are any issues with being face down and wearing a mask, then I can work with you in side-lying or seated to make this more comfortable for you. I may have to wear a visor during some aspects of your treatment (anything where you are face up).
Hand sanitiser will be available at the front door for use prior to and after the appointment. Bathroom facilities are available to wash your hands.
I have risked assessed the premises and have a rigorous cleaning schedule to follow. If you want any details of enhanced hygiene measures then I am happy to share the risk assessment and action points with you.
Reduced availability for booking – as I work from home, I have to comply with domestic social distancing rules and only mix with 2 other households indoors at the moment (this may change at any point). This limits me to 2 appointment slots a day. If more than one of you from a household want a treatment then I may request that you come on the same day if possible. As ever you can contact me directly for appointment availability and I will post my availability onto my Facebook business page so you can check there. If none of the appointments suit, please contact me directly as there may be some flexibility in times depending on my partner's work/childcare situation.
Reduced contact time – the advice is to limit face-to-face contact where possible. I will do any pre-screening prior to the appointment via phone and can go through any exercises and stretches via video call after the appointment if necessary so that we can maximise hands-on treatment in the time we have.
Payment - I will send BACS details with the booking confirmation email to allow bank transfer of appointment fee to try and keep things cashless. If not possible, I can still accept cash and I can still take card payment on the day.
Cancellation policy - As ever, please let me know in as much advance as possible if you need to cancel an appointment. With reduced availability then the more notice I get the more likely I am to fill the slot. If you have any symptoms of Covid-19 (or other contagious illness) prior to your appointment then there won’t be a charge to cancel your appointment. Missed appointments/no shows will be charged at 100% of the appointment fee.
If anything changes with regards to government guidelines and the effect that may have on my business then I will keep you updated.
As things stabilise and hopefully settle down again, I will look to reopen my space in Portobello as well (probably early next year) and increase my appointment availability so please be patient with the situation and remember that everyone's health is the most important thing!
